Broken Romance.A Poem by Annabee90The constellations they align for you and I, The planets pause in their orbit, Each star shines a little brighter. A comet flies a little faster, The trail of stardust that it leaves behind, marks our passage through the night, and future souls will marvel in our mystery and construct monuments made to you and to me. They never will quite catch the light in your eyes, and the curve of my lips...never will they know the sweaty, restless nights, and the synchronised grinding of our hips. Each kiss will seal our damned fate, and we shall not know until it is far too late. For stars burn brightly then they die, and none shone brighter than you and I. We were a box of fireworks set off all at once, a car crash you cannot help but watch, a fallen star - but not heaven sent, hot steam rising from a broken vent. We were a kaleidoscope of chaos, A puppet show of misery, a first chapter, discarded - an open heart left unguarded. We were laughter followed by tears, We were hope preceded by fears, We were martyrs to our old enemy, and he stabbed us in the back for our loyalty... he stitched our hearts back up clumsily and then, ever so reluctantly, we were free.
