Forget Me Not / The Writer's WifeA Poem by Annabee90
Forget me not, in the smudge of coral lipstick on your favorite coffee cup.
Forget me not, in words - brittle like honeycomb, A single snap, and fragments of our soul fall. In claustrophobic summer nights, Hands knotted in hair, Choking breath, Sting of lips, Peppermint kiss. Raised voices, Notes on the fridge, Perfect strangers, Nights heavy with guilt. Forget me not, in the reflection of yourself. The lack of sugar in your tea, The pale blue bedroom, Changes made for me. Forget me not in the words that you write, For we know she never truly dies, The creative writer's wife. © 2016 Annabee90Author's Note
