Paddle & Battle

Paddle & Battle

A Poem by Anna Rivers

Row against the tide.
Go ahead.
Defy it.
You will find that,
Your boat will shake,
Maybe, even tumble,
But hold fast,
And take out,
That paddle.
Battle.
      Battle.
                 Battle.
And low! Behold that
City of Gold,
A treasure beyond,
Treasures.
And just think.
All you needed to do,
was paddle.
