Sweet Are His WordsA Poem by AnnaKat_BrownThis is a poem about a relationship gone sour.Sweet are his words Cheerful is his laugh Now you cannot see, He simply wears a mask.
Passionate and free, A man of large heart But soon he will reveal, His soul, plagued with dark.
You will fall in, Into his charming ways. You will deny every curse, Every flaw in his face.
His charming quick-wit, And the glitter in his eyes Will beat you to the ground, Bring you to your demise.
The man who stole your heart, Who swept you off your feet, Has slandered all you know, Left you helpless and weak.
Now you cannot do a thing, It is out of your reach. He’s draining your life away, Like a sucking, wretched leech.
The connection you have, With this child of rage It must be destroyed, Only you hold the blade.
Cut it quick! Please do not tarry! Hold on a little longer, Life will grow more scary.
The line severed! The girl set free! Praise be to God, For giving her eyes to see.
Satan, he wears a mask. A mask of love-filled lies He will string a trap for you, It might look like a charming guy. © 2013 AnnaKat_BrownAuthor's Note
