High school Heartbreak Recovery

A Poem by Anna Charlie

What is there to say?
Really, I'm okay;
Everything is great.

Learning to breathe with the constant change;
Taking in this time away,
Realized what it means to be brave.

And really if you want the truth,
I'm so much better off without you.

You'd chew me up, spit me out;
Fill me to the brim with doubt.

All the opportunities I could have made,
You challenged me in all the wrong ways.

Darling darling, don't be fake;
Understand that we both make mistakes.

Just can't believe that you could throw away,
Everything,
And not be phased.

I was raised to respect the maze,
That's made me who I am today.

Fate has its way of providing greater,
Brighter, better, no more anger.
No more danger,
No doubt in my mind.

I am without you,
And I am alright.
