Kyoto

A Poem by ~AnnaCentric~
"

This is an old poem I wrote last year for my Creative Writing class about my hometown, Kyoto.

"

The place where the sun rises

A bright land

Filled with history

Of bloody battles and loss

And then of prosperity and life

With sakura blossoms blooming

Shading it in a gentle pink

And the old tower

Rising high above our eyes

The symbol of humble glory

That is to always be remembered

And its people

Accepting, understanding, gracious

From the high school students

Who dare to do better

To the farm workers

Who undertake the fields

Everything lies in my memories

For I will one day venture back

To the place I most admire

My homeland

My bithplace

Kyoto
