I gaze upon you

With such admiration

For so long

You’ve mesmerized me

But the rain

Starts to pour

Beating down on you so hard

That your beautiful petals wilt

And are slowly ripped away

From your arms

As they float

To the ground

The radiant picture

That once was

Is destroyed

My eyes peer down

At the broken flower

The image

That once was your image of beauty

For now

It’s gone

Until the sun

Decides to shine again
