A New Tune

Oh the things you can accomplish when you move on with your life and let yourself be happy again. I missed it. :) Inspired by Feist's song "Mushaboom" a bit.

I still taste your lips
My skin smells of you
And tonight I finally said
"I love you too"

It took a push
a leap of faith
But I know in the end
It was worth the wait

Walked together through the day
Sat side-by-side for the night
All that time, all the day
Though the hours seemed so slight

You made a joke,
I remember
'Bout when our lives reach September
When we want to spend life together
And the rest of time weather

I know it was humor
We're too young to even think
Yet I picture our families
To us, toasting a drink

You know what they say
About every single witticism
There's some honesty in them
The statements a clear prism

And I agree!
Wholeheartedly
In every honesty
I know what I feel, and I know what I see
And one thing I know most
I love you
And you love me

Author's Note

Please ignore the complete lack of rhyme scheme in the third stanza, it's sort of a "bridge" between the two parts of the story here.

And as for the last few lines, I just went crazy with the rhymes. Structure is for sissies. :)
