A Poem by Miss Anna

Someone stronger could have moved on faster
You gave me a year and I took two
I sat after the sermon, the very front pew
Listening to my long-gone pastor

But that year is over now
And I look toward what's new
The sky opens to the brightest blue
The sun shining through the clouds

Someone stronger would have moved on faster
But would have none of these lessons learned
Peace isn't a grace that goes unearned
Feeling not a skill you can master

Your time is over
Though I know we're still friends
We had our ways, we made amends
Now politely distant, with new lovers

Though from my heart I know you I'll never cleanse

About
I want to take this world and dust it off. Take the corruption and tears and sorrow and give it all a little shake. Make the world fresh, make it what it was. more..
