Autumn EveningA Poem by AnnieInspired after a long walk through the woods Tired shadows of trees Lean long and low Against the leaf-strewn valley. The sun blinks bleary-eyed And blurs the creek Into golden smudges. Wind combs fingers Through oak and beech In preparation for night. And in one slow motion The heavens blink A thousand stars into being.
