First Grade Nightmares

First Grade Nightmares

A Story by Anka Starr
"

A short story about my childhood.

"
As a child, other children were my worst nightmare. Perhaps it came from me being an only child--that's what I'd like to think. Whenever associating myself with the annoying snot-nosed brats that found solace in teasing each other, I'd always think about how I was nothing like them. I found more comforts in listening to adults speak, even if I couldn't comprehend what they were talking about.
It's strange; because now as an adult, I find myself unbearably childish.

The first line was a great introduction. It brought me in straight away. And I love how you end it with how you find yourself childish. Great job I enjoyed reading this short story :)

A nice short story.

Good opening sentence (I think that's always important)

"how I'm nothing like them" I think this should be in the past tense like the rest of the piece.
