Serenade

When the night will be dark and the path too long ,
When no one will listen to you and the world will call you wrong
I will be there by your side singing you a serenade
Protecting you, hiding you from everyone till your tears fade.

The lyrics may get broken but your heart will heal
And finally when you'll be smiling then all your troubles I'll steal.
When the weight will be too much to bear and you'll forget how to fight
Dejected from the struggle, unable to see the light
I'll be there by your side singing you a serenade ,
Standing in front of you when you feel afraid.

Telling you, what if you failed, what if it didn't go as planned
Coz who said trying again is banned ?
And if they make you feel as worthless as tartaric wine,
I'll be there waiting for you cause you'll always be preciously mine
As there is nothing in this world that you can confess,
Nothing that can make me love you less
As I'll always be there by your side singing you a serenade
Swearing to be your home in this big arcade.

This was very special; a promise as much as a poem, a comfort as much as a composition. I like the sentiment in this poem very much Anjeline. It speaks to me of great love. Being there through thick and thin, good or bad to support a loved one. So refreshing to know in the throw away society we find ourselves living in. Built to last. That's what I like. A lovely offering.Makes me think of my mum and dad and all four of my grandparents. They took their relationships very seriously and made them work.
