Raindrops

Raindrops

A Poem by Anjeline

Descending from the sky like pellucid pearls,
Having the freedom to fall anywhere like the tendrils have for twirls
With a swift dispatch rider you often come,
Demonstrating to me that even small ones have the power to obscure the sun.
Sprinkling down on the emotionless crust you introduce the two separated friends,
Indoctrinating me that with a try, determination and conviction even a broken dream mends.

Refracting together you form a polychrome
Edifying me that not bars but kinfolks make a home
Leaving a petrichor behind these raindrops give a hint,
Enlightening me that a good deed always leave a footprint.
Not just a Pluviophile but these raindrops make you so much more,
All you have to do is to come out and assimilate it's impelling roar.

Love when I have the chance to read a poem and actually learn something.
I loved this line the Most: "Demonstrating to me that even small ones have the power to obscure the sun."
Powerful stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you you so much for such kind words. I am glad you liked it :)
A spectacular language used in this super piece. Just flows off the lips and tongue as you speak it inside your head. Great images held within. Visually pleasing, poetry inflow.

I love the word you define in your authors note . . . also "petrichor" (which sent me to google) - a perfect word for this. Your description of rain is unexpected, not only observing how it falls in tendrils & twirls (great word choices & sounds), but turning your message into philosophical pondering - startling in its freshness. Your message seems to be more about how rain makes this narrator FEEL, more than describing a rainy scene. And I always enjoy unusual perspectives. We are having a very rainy winter here, which is rare - usually dry! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It's filled with endless bliss dear Anjeline....I, without any doubts loved reading this from the start...
The detailing of falling rain drops and its capability of influencing us to do something better in bad times or to just sit calmly and enjoy the petrichor are penned with much wise words and lines....
Am a pulviophile too....just waiting for the spring to enter and then I'll enjoy every rain drop to the fullest!
Many many thanks for writing and sharing this....Be blessed :)

I have just learned that I am a pluviophile :) Pellucid pearls, that is so nice, love saying those words and hearing them. Have you ever got soaked in the rain with a lover, walking hand in hand? If not try it. Rain is refreshing and can be exhilarating. I liked your poem. It took me to places.
