The Mom I Should Have Had

You are the mom that I have always wanted, 
but never had. You are the mom that makes 
me smile when I'm sad. You have given me 
hope when all hope was lost. You opened my 
eyes to see what a true mom is like at no cost.
You have given me more than I could ever repay, 
but I will do my best to find a way.
I will love you forever and a day. You have a place 
in my heart, and there you will stay.
