A Knock On My Door

A Knock On My Door

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

I'm loving you more today than
I did when we were together.
I thought as time went by,
being without you would get easier,
but I see I was wrong,
cause together we do belong.
I thought I had the strength to
get over you, but being without you
is just something I can't get past,
for you my love does last.
No one touches me like you,
looks at me like you,
kisses me like you,
holds me like you,
or makes love to me like you.
It's you and only you that I want to
share my life, and my soul with.
I will wait my whole life just to have
one more day with you in my arms
hearing you say "I love you baby."
Each day passes by and I'm still waiting
for you to come knocking on my door
and tell me that you want to be with
me forever more, but each time I go to
the door my heart hit's the floor
cause there's never a knock on my door.

About
I have been writing poetry for about 13 years now. Some of my work is pretty good while others still needs work. I know that I am my own worst critic, but that's how you get better at writing. Most of.. more..
