I Love You Daddy

I Love You Daddy

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

I see you daddy,
you're laying there dieing,
and I'm standing here crying,
cause I never got to say goodbye.

I have said many hurtful things to you,
but the one thing that I never said
was the most important of all.

I know it's a little too late for you to
hear me with your ears, but I'm
hoping you'll hear me with your soul.

"Daddy, I love you and I'm sorry!
When I told you that I hated you,
and that you weren't my father,
and wished that you would die.
Daddy, I'm sorry,
I never meant all those things."

I know it's a little too late
to take those words back,
but I'm hoping you will forgive
me, and take me back.

I see you daddy,
you're laying there in the ground,
and I'm standing here crying
cause I love you daddy.
