My Days Without You

My Days Without You

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

As you walk out that door, the tears start to fall. I turn away from you so you don't see me bawl. I know you're only going to work, but my heart and my arms want to hold you
for a minute more.
You shut the door and my heart sinks to the floor cause it will be twelve hours before you return so I can hold you once more. The hours that have to pass in between our
soft touches seem to drag by ever so slowly. I try to sleep to pass the time, but it's no use for wishing you were in these arms of mine.
The clock ticks the minutes away second by second, and every minute that passes seems to last longer than the one before. Your touch is the one I miss so damn much, cause one is never enough. I never knew love could be like such, but I know this much, when we're apart life is so damn tough.
