You Are My Son

You Are My Son

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

I may not have given birth to you,
But you are still my son.
I'm sorry that I was unable to be there to see all of your "firsts", but I am here now, cause you are my son.
I may not have been there for your
previous hard times, or your previous
good times, but as long as you are my
son I will always be here for you.
I will be your friend, your mom,
your supporter, and your guide
as long as I live, cause you are my son.
If you ever need a shoulder to lean on,
I have two, if you ever need a ear,
I have two, if you ever need a hug,
I have two arms that can hold you in
your time of need, cause you are my son. I love you cause you are you, and you are my son.

Written for my son,
Robert W. Fitzjarrell
