Many Faces

Many Faces

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

I used to have many faces
that I would hide behind.
Never wanting others to
see the pain I went through.
I would put on a smile even
though I was crying inside.
Never breaking down until
I was alone; Alone with all
my sadness and pain, the
tears would fall like rain.

I still have many faces, but
I no longer hide behind them.
I let them show, for they are
true. When I smile, it is
because I am happy. When I
laugh it is because I find
something funny. And now
when you look at me all you
see is the real me.
