Saying 'I Do'

Saying 'I Do'

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

The love between you and I is no
different than it is between a man
and a woman; Yet we are not
allowed to get married due to
political bullshit.
Because we are two women who
love the other, we don't get to
have the same rights and freedoms
as the traditional couple.
Someday soon things will change,
and it will be legal for us to say
'I Do.' And I want you to know
that when that day comes no one
else will be able to stand in our way;
And we will have a hellava wedding
day to say ' I Do.'
