We Are Not Your Pets

I wrote this poem to advocate rights and fair treatment for animals.

"
We are not your pets. We are not your slaves. We are not your plaything. We are not your experiment. We are not disposable. We are your equal. 
I am not your master. I am not your superior. I am not your murderer. I am not your abuser. I will not throw you away. I am your equal. 
We will not be thrown away. We will not just be a number. We will not be forgotten. We will not shed a tear. We will not take this abuse anymore. We are not your pets. We are all equals now and for all eternity.
