Why Are You Staring?A Poem by Anissa KesselThis poem is in the point of view of a not-so-innocent person. Why are you staring? Stop staring with those big black eyes of yours.! STOP! STOP! STOP! What have I done?! What should I do?! I didn't mean to intrude! I'll leave now, don't follow. Why are you following me! Where should I go?! Why are you doing this?! This has to stop! STOP! STOP! STOP! I'll put it down, don't worry. Don't touch it! Don't grab it! Oh no, look what you've done! Look what you made me do! Why are you doing this?! I didn't mean to wake you up! I didn't mean to give you a fright! I didn't mean to kill your family! I didn't mean for any of this! It's your fault! You just couldn't STOP!, STOP!, STOP! Why did you do it? TELL ME, why did you do it?! Tell me! Tell me now! You have to tell me before it's too late! Stop with this silence! STOP! STOP! STOP! Why did I do it, you ask? Oh, I'll never tell. I'll just keep staring-and-staring-and-staring-and-staring---at you.
