WaitingA Poem by Anima Inspired
Sitting,
quietly in the shade
of an ordinary tree
with ordinary branches
and an extraordinary story.
Waiting,
to see you walking towards me,
with that lanky swagger
that sets my senses on fire,
exciting a frenzy that steals my breath
and challenges the rhythm of my pulse.
Remembering,
that time that we made love
here in the dark, on this very spot,
not caring who saw, not concerning ourselves
with anyone or anything, except
our skin, our hands, our eyes, our mouths.
Falling,
until I can’t breathe anything but your name,
off of my lips, a whisper, delicate
like the fluttering of butterflies in June,
circling, spinning, clustering…safe. © 2008 Anima InspiredReviews
