The Embrace of Dreams

The Embrace of Dreams

A Poem by Anima Inspired

A door of pallid vapor stands
open, as it is each night,
beckoning me forth with shadows
dancing in the muted light.

Watching this display of shapes
I close my eyes and swallow,
my heart takes the leap first
begging heavy feet to follow.

For beyond this door of reverie
is a world of acquired dreams,
where colors play and visions glide,
in emerald fields and sapphire streams.

Nameless faces sing in harmony,
their voices becoming the breeze,
that rustles gently the outstretched arms
of ancient weeping willow trees.

By moonlight the scene is silver,
sparkling with an unearthly grace,
and with a sense of calm and purpose,
I fall forward into dream's embrace.

"By moonlight the scene is silver,

This is exceptionally well written.
Aside from its great rhyme
and flow, this poem takes your
reader on a journey,
out of this earthly world...
and into another realm of existence --

so peaceful and serene... wow.

Loved it...

Captivating..Our dreams are what call us to our future. I loved the verses:
"sparkling with an unearthly grace,
and with a sense of calm and purpose,
I fall forward into dream's embrace."
I do believe we should embrace our dreams as they call us to our purpose in life.

The poem has an amazing flow..it is structured beautifully. Breathtaking!

While I was reading this piece I saw it inside my head, very descriptive and serene, yet also a bit frightening at the same time. I really loved this poem, you did an excellent job ;).

Ooh, a fanciful one! I like this! I love the third verse, because of the imagery, of course. The rhyming scheme works really well, especially in the last verse.

You should really try to write one that's below par, otherwise I'm going to be admitting all of your poems into my favorites. I can't get over how you come up with such beautiful poetry. The imagery is always fantastic, and it tickles me so that I can't forget them. It beckons to me, which really is unusual for me with poetry.
