Fair Bargain

Fair Bargain

A Poem by Anika

Hold your breath,
your words that slip,
rhythmlessly,
Into the
purple silk of lust- I Know
I know your truth,
The chandelier of errors.
Ignorant to our flaws,
we drift nevertheless.
Indifferent to what matters
losing our grip
we trip
we do more.
more than just linking fingers

Sh! quiet your eyes
they speak your secrets
basking in reasons
to feel sorry for you
Feather your thoughts
I'm not for you to keep
You may leave the sheets undone,
A fair bargain indeed.

This was a very vivid piece in terms of imagery, and a pleasure to read. To me, the last three lines spoke of a found comfort in intimacy followed by distance. Very strong work. Good job!
