Brighid's Fire (A Song)

Brighid's Fire (A Song)

A Poem by Ani Ashford
"

In 2001 I was lead to the UK by very vivid visions by a Goddess. It was a time of starting to define myself, begining the process of knowing what my true heart's desire really was. After years of layering other people's wants and needs first, it has tak

"

Love whispered by the grass,
so, quietly I did pass
beside the running water clear,
mists reflecting rainbows near.

My heart is beating as the drum,
like fingers on the bodhrun
Spirit, now of burning fire
fulfill my love and true desire.

I reached to touch the phantom hues
of this elusive, un-relenting muse.
Illusion, delusion, frenzy, maimed,
through rebirth, forever changed.

Blackbird sings in the willow.
She mourns in songs sweet echo,
promises broken, never kept,
in blink of eye that has not wept.

My heart is beating as the drum,
like fingers on the bodhrun.
Spirit, now of burning fire
fulfill my love and true desire.

Love whispered by the grass,
so, quietly I did pass
beside the running water clear,
mists reflecting rainbows near.

Whistling wind behind me run,
slipping lightly around the sun.
Dark clouds billow to the west,
herald of a stormy quest.

At last, upon the mountain high,
my wings are spread, and then I fly.
Illusion, delusion, frenzy, maimed,
through rebirth forever changed.

My heart is beating as the drum,
like fingers on the bodhrun.
Spirit, now of burning fire
fulfill my love and true desire.

This really does express the beauty of Nature. I love the way the Bodhrun's beat reflects the heart. I have always found that the Mother's heart beats with the sound of the drum.
Beautiful imagery and evocation.
