BLUE

BLUE

A Poem by Ani Ashford
"

Heart and soul; sharing with someone of like mind

"
Breathless,
I look into your eyes;
ice blue, blue blue, reflection blue
of the sea, the sea within.
You let me in. Into the portals, iris-wide
where there is nothing one can hide.

Breathless,
I look into your eyes;
ice blue, blue blue, reflection blue
of the sea, the sea within.

Reaching to touch the mirror,
My hand meets yours. I reach to touch the mirror.
and realize
You are me and I am you, within the eyes.

Breathless,
I look into your eyes.
Within is where the secret lies
nested in this honeycomb.

Your eyes are my eyes,
ice blue, blue blue, reflection blue
of the sea, the sea within.
This is where the magic begins.

We are this magic,
where my hand meets yours,
as we touch the mirror.

Breathless,
I look into your eyes;
ice blue, blue blue, reflection blue
of the sea, the sea within.
You let me in. Into the portals, iris-wide
where there is nothing one can hide.

I am sorry about your losses. Pleased to meet you and read you for the first time. I wish you success with your writing. I enjoyed reading this poem, the layout and the repetition worked well for me. The eyes are the mirrors of the soul.

I'm sorry to hear of your parents passing, Ani. I lost my father last Oct. This is really unique writing, you're very good. The repetition fits and there's that love that resides in the lines.

Nice writing. :)
