CAGES

Sometimes - our own thoughts become cast in cement, not allowing the freedom to soar, or ways to relate to ourselves or others in a loving manner

We see very little other than the limits

of our past and present. 

Building cages around ourselves,

blaming others when we are confined. 

Cages, not about loving and being loved,

nor even about marriage or

no marriage...

 

Careful,

what you wish for.

 

Our thoughts create us.

We all make prisons of our own, 

too rigid in our thinking and expectations: 

 

Calcification;

Hardened arteries;

Excuses for no trust. 

Rage with no focus;

Inner voids with no distinction.

Share nothing of importance;

Heart stopping coldness.

 

The ego, lacking integration

of soul-light entwined.

How oft have you whined,

'I am alone....'

 

Who built your cage,

not of bamboo sticks,

but silly tricks of lies,

implications,

and broken promises?

Those last two lines knock you back. They made me think more about the situations people put themselves in, and then selfishly blame others for their predicament.
