SUMMERLANDS

SUMMERLANDS

A Poem by Ani Ashford

If the answer were a life in me

I could have given you,

 love could bear the smallest

and greatest moments.

Your pain was my sorrow.

If the more of time was sun,

and less of rain;

Days as many,

became few.

Today? Tomorrow?

Now tears. Then tears,

where no one can see,

when you go away from me.

This is poignant and knowing a little of the back story makes it even more meaningful. I've said 'goodbye' to a loved one under similar circumstances. It's a lovely poem.

A wonderful story of love towards a loved one, and what would do to make a positive difference for them.
Beautiful words for something so important! :)
