SILVER STREAMA Poem by Ani AshfordThis poem was written for a dear friend of mine when he was in chemotherapy for leukaemia.Swiftly flows the silver stream swirling over stones confined within the muddy banks. Grass, green and glistening with dew, bends gently sending droplets into the throbbing ribbon-dance. There stands a giant oak, branches securely stretched out to the sky. Mist entwines like faery veil where velvet moss clings within the crotch of each limb. Mother Earth surrounds the root, the silky mud alive with tufts of grass, green and wet, vibrant with energy. 01/2001 for KB © 2009 Ani AshfordReviews
