In My HeadA Poem by Ani AshfordA personal reflection on emotional pain.
Transparent~
Skin of my spirit being- Visible to all eyes, Veins coursing with pulsating shame; I am vulnerable To the pain Of scrutiny. My heart in pieces, Lies in my head, My hand, on my shoulders, Hiding in the grip Of my gut. Like a great snake Entangled in the past, To bind present And future, Squeezes my breath away. Blue sky of my eyes betray Every thought I have, With blush Of awkward anger. Copyright Awenglow 07/09/1998 © 2016 Ani Ashford |
