Depression is a full time job

Depression is a full time job

A Poem by Thisismythearpy
"

This may help some people get into the heads of depressed people around them. This is about how my own experience with depression has been most of the time, so someone may be able to relate.

"

Twelve hour shifts in bed

Interrupted by smoke breaks

Working hard at accomplishing nothing

While nothing holds your interest

Alone you are completely isolated

In the cubicle of your mind

Listening to a beating second hand

Counting the ever slowing time

Rolling over with a sign

You are working overtime

Toiling away in your mind

Digging deeper into sadness

Wet eyes

Paired with dry lips

Horrible feelings

 That will never quit

Longing for the end of these shifts

It is time to go to work again

Clocking in

Never clocking out

Will this ever end?
