Smoking gives you cancer

Okay okay, this was something I wrote with the intention of using it as a folk punk song to play on ukulele (when I get one). If you are familiar with the genre, you may get a kick out of it.

Tell me smoking gives me cancer

A fact everyone knows

Though what you don’t know

Is that the words of human beings

Have done more damage to my body

Than any other thing

The muffled sobs I have at night

Burn my throat more than any tobacco

Maybe my lungs are filled with tar

But I was once so happy 

Until words and actions of others

Completely destroyed me

Sure smoking isn’t healthy

It doesn’t make me happy

However it briefly distracts me

From the smoke of my burning life

So if smoking kills me

Light my funeral pyre with a cigarette 

Because I told you

I don’t give a s**t

That is vague and depressing. Oh my god... if you're wanting to depress someone... you sure done it. How good it is to be with a strong poem. Nice work. start more of these... You'll be on good track. Poems are uplifting. Don't stop making them.
