Written a long time ago when listening to The Smiths song of the same title. The first line is about listening to the song. Just digging through old notebooks and pulling out junk I don't like.

Sing me to sleep

Is the song that’s playing

A reminder of who decided against staying 

You know what the song is about

For you are on the same route

So sing me to sleep

Sing it deep

I feel the same as you

Sings me to sleep

Though I still weep

When waking up

So lay down to sleep

Tell anything my soul is theirs to keep

If that is what it takes

To make sure I don’t wake

Half tempted to cut everything past "I feel the same as you". I barley even remember writing this thing anyways.

I was drawn to the title because I have one piece with the same title :)
I didn't know there was a song with the same title too though...
About the write, I think it has a very peace like flow and I like your rhyming too. Nicely penned.
