Trying my hand at sonnets now after someone suggested them. Just another lost love related sonnet if it even is a sonnet.

Even after all this time 

My feelings have not changed 

Fine with my fate on the line 

We are distant and estranged 

Someday we might get back close 

Though it may be in many years 

It is what I want the most 

To cease these painful tears 

Things seen keep me awake at night 

What was lost makes every day long 

I am ready for a fight 

Let us sing a victory song 

In hopes you will one day feel the same 

I must continue on every day in pain

Author's Note

Not really sure if this is a sonnet or not. Just a first attempt. I wish I could write them about something else but have so far been unable to write anything about a different topic really.
