Chores for love

Chores for love

A Poem by Thisismythearpy
"

How the only person I've ever been able to love would have me do chores in order to be able to visit them for an hour. We loved eachother, but it wasn't fair to me.

"
Every day at 6 o'clock
At your door I would knock

Greeted with a warm smile
After my drive of a mile

As time went on , I'd come to your door
In order to stay, I'd have to do a chore

I worked away almost every day
Because someday It wasn't supposed to be that way

At the end of the hour
My mood would sour
Because then I would have to go home

I worked to lighten your load
In hopes one day we would grow old

Every visit filled with chores
Any time I would walk through that door

A labor of love
For my angle from above

I love you
So any chore I would do

Did you love me though?
After a year of working me, you told me to go

This is how I feel
You needed to know
