Why I can't get close to anyone new

Forever I will belong to someone else

I'm sorry

Others may try to have me

But I'm already taken

By someone who left

Sorry to anyone new who comes into life

Wanting me by their side

It's something I can't do

Especially for someone new

My heart and soul belongs to someone old

They don't want me, but I can not go

Anyone new wouldn't want to be a replacement 

So I refrain

Sparing them the pain

Of how I could never love them
