 Prologue

She walked past the crowd and turned to look at her mother. She was too intrigued to notice her daughter walking towards the exit. Liz breathed deeply and walked out into the parking lot; it was too dark to see anything. She rushed quickly to the car and opened the door to grab the backpack she had packed ahead of time. "Everything's going to be alright," she whispered to herself. In the back of her mind she felt her spirit breaking as she walked down the street, away from everything she's ever known. She didn't turn her head to look back; she didn't want to feel pressured to go back.
