Removing The VeilA Poem by Angela
I thought I saw it that night
A look of love and hope in your eyes A look so pure I couldn't turn away Everything I longed for was in your gaze Though I saw your purity was imprisoned A slave to words so cruelly given You buried your light in a tomb of self doubt I was driven with a need to let it shine out Endless darkness ensued Your self-hatred grew I continued to vow to set you free Knowing someday you could believe Believe you had divine light behind your veil Know that you hadn't failed That you are worthy of love surpassing time and space That you were my saving grace I held on tight, stubborn and sure As I hoped, your eyes glowed pure It took time but now I can see You are everything I knew you'd be
