When the day is bright, I search for you in the mirror;
When the night is dark, I seek you in the stars
Even when you stand right before me, Love,
Sometimes I cannot see where you are, or who you are!
My heart will never tire of this quest,
Though my mind would falter
Where are you, my Love?
Are you near, or distant?
Do you seek me, or seek to avoid me?
Perhaps you live in my mind alone!
Despite that, I will search for you, Love...
Without end!

BEZ KOŃCA
Ciągle Cię szukam ,tak bez końca
wśród ciemnych nocy i dni słonecznych
Szukam Cię w gwiazdach i lustrzanym odbiciu,
Gdzie jesteś dziś nie wiem.
Tak daleko do Ciebie Kochanie ,
Serce me tęskni z każdym dniem bardziej...
I szuka i znaleźć nie może ..
Może w słowie ukryłeś wspomnienie o sobie ,
a może gdzieś stoisz koło mnie tak nie realnie
tak zwyczajnie a ja wciąż szukam i znaleźć nie mogę .
Seeking and searching, something that seems to be the norm, now days. At times we know that someone is right there, but we cannot see them, they don't allow us to see, only to feel their presence. If we love true, we may search forever for that one person, that has captured our heart. This is how I read this piece of poetry. Your thoughts are well taken and understood. Thank you for the Halloween greeting.
It is so true, love is without end. It matters not whom we love, as long as there is love in our hearts. This is a fantastic collaboration, with Mark in your corner how could you possibly go wrong? He is a master at poetry. I like your presentation. Nicely done!. Smiles to you.
What a wonderful poem, what a wonderful translation. Such words should be inscribed in stone so they live forever - they're beautiful.
The search for love can go on and on .. but then, suddenly, it's there staring you full in the face with such power you wonder what you've been missing and for how long.
This is a write to which I deeply relate. Sometimes love seems to elude us though we may seek to love and be loved with every breath. And yes, we may not see it right in front of us especially if it is a beloved friend who may fear hurting the friendship if he/she declared a deeper love.
Lines that really hit home for me were:
"Do you seek me, or seek to avoid me?
Perhaps you live in my mind alone!"
I am beginning to think that the ideal of a true romantic love is merely an illusion, at least for me. It can appear so real until I open my heart and reach for it, and...POOF...it disappears or is snatched away. I am sure there are those who disagree and will say they have found their soulmate. I'm not really jaded, I just stopped searching and learned to let love flow through me, without the illusion that it will flow back to me. Perhaps that way my heart won't be shattered quite as much when the smoke clears.
A very classic poem of love lost with feeling.
A few of mine are being translated for Finnish Radio.
It will be interesting to see what that will become.
