A Former friend.A Poem by Naomi Montana WalshI was and still am a good friend of my childhoods friends .. but somehow as an adult I never connect and my adult friendships never last.. this is about one of those.I still think of her, that friend once removed... and never as dear as those who held my hand as a child.
I still think of her, too old for patty cake, but still jumping rope.
I still picture her , putting her damage on eying me so suspiciously. We should have had more in common, being equals in age, but as a child I ran too fast and tired too early.
Still, by the time I met her, I was already too far ahead to catch up with, or she was too far behind to care. I still think of her , but never as dear as those who held my hand as a child. She was right to eye me with suspicion. . © 2010 Naomi Montana WalshAuthor's Note
