Bleed Poetry

Older poem

 

If you had not been hurt long ago,

this is just a theory, nothing I really know.

you could cut yourself now and bleed a steady stream of poetry.

If that damn tourniquet was not so tight ,you'd bleed alright.

As long as you feel safe ..as long as you feel you've paid your dues.
You can hear the music but never sing the blues.

I got a razor in my hand I can cut you free.
Got a razor in my hand, I can open all those wounds.
It's warm and thick and it does the trick,
lighted headed heartache , just a little sick
Instead you wait for words as if they come from without
You got it all along with the doubt..
Beyond the shadow..
You'll get it right through the darkness you'll find the light.
If you just let go and bleed tonight.

Ohh i could take your words for may meanings to tell..
and yes if you bleed and cut yourself and damn torniquet was not so tight
then you will bleed and you feel lightheaded and sick,and here you wait and wait
for words that come from within like a stream..from a heavy heart you began to sing
even the blues in your mouth will come out so sweet,all will gather around..get pleased
with all you say..and they wont help, they wont help..if they do stop the bleed.. you stop to sing
its in the darkness you feel all the light and see visions just you,and start to sing them to all
they will hear all the loveliness..and all the sweet tunes coming from you while you waste away

And the words do bleed a deep song of scarlet, a throbbing ache in every line.. Very good word-weaving, the mood potent and captivating.

funny: my older pieces are all about bleeding/ cutting too. i blame tori amos. What I like about this piece and what makes it work for me on the cutting level, is your suggestion that bleeding is poetry. Plus I found the title super awesome.
