The Calm before the storm

optimistic side of me

 

 

 

I was told the calm always comes before the storm.
In this small saying fear abides even in those still peaceful moments,
that we should dread our current contentment.

These words become paradox and turn upon themselves, for even the calm is overshadowed by the pending storm.
I will choose not to fear the storm or deem it bad
nor ,shall I lay in wait of it, denying myself the purity of moments.
To see each unfold undaunted by expectation .
I will choose to be happy ever after and dance in the rain and sun alike.
I will not linger in the shadow of the valley of death , for has it not been said that even so, we should fear not?
I will live impassioned with all

There is also a storm before the calm
and these circles turn endlessly
I will spin with them like a child spins dizzy and giddy with joy and all the more excited when they fall, for on the ground you can see the heavens most clearly.

I like this poem but also the sentiment we must not be a prisoner to ourselves and chase our dreams with true courage,for the faint hearted will always wait for bad tidings and then deal with them instead of riding the storm like a champion surfer.
Your words are so eloquently written with style and grace and a tremendously positive attitude towards negative impact which then can weigh down the mind,you say reach out and break free from your shackles i agree,the storm is just a metaphor and could be used for stranded or besieged fishermen.
I think you would love my lighthouse story(THE LIGHTHOUSEKEEPER it's a ghost story.
