What are you?

What are you?

A Poem by Naomi Montana Walsh
"

I think I am addressing my own worries in this one and how they never make a lot of sense and seem more a distraction

"

Are you just a wall?

Another symbolic image of my disregard for truth?

Or are you just a memory that managed to pull itself loose?

Strings of words that won't subside , strings of thoughts left untide.

Are you a wall between sainthood and me?

Do you untie yourself or do I set you free?

Are you my better half or the half that holds me back?

Are you the rope or are you the slack?

I love this type of poetry that gives a inner look into the thoughts of the poet.

Your write certainly does sing.

A poets life of forever questioning, you capture it perfectly.

Very powerful questions, it is like looking in the mirror as you try to figure out if you are all you can be and if you do more harm or good for yourself. I think we all go through these periods so i think many can relate.
