I sometimes .have to step back from the news and see the other side of things
The Bad News
I've had enough of the Evening News.
I'm tired of being tapped for my tears.
Enough tragedy someone send in the clowns.
I think this, as I turn off the TV.
Is nothing safe or too sacred for commentary.?
Maybe we should know, maybe it's good for us to know that the world is at war and at best you fight it long and hard, but you always die in the end, at worst you're taken down in your prime by a mad man or your plane goes down or you're caught in any number of little things I will refer to as life mines.
Yes, little accidents that take your life or your loved ones lives and leave you injured living in grief that is what I feel like as I turn off the News and try to sleep.
I see the faces of the wounded the abandoned the betrayed, the ones that don't get to live a long time without stepping on one of those mines.
I can't sleep, I feel depressed, where is God? then it happens, I begin to remind myself that it's depression and disillusionment that leads to all this, it's a direct line into the war zone it's what we see every night on the News that becomes the drone of expectation in our lives.
I remind myself that babies where born and people made love and laughed and danced and swam in the ocean and flew in airplanes and landed safely on the ground and lived to be 103.. I have to remind myself because the News... is the bad news.. and life is more abundant then that.
You said so much and stated it so truthfully. The news only carries the bad news, every once in a rare while it will throw in a small morsel of joy. But that is not the majority of people in our society want to hear. During that brief moment of joy they will get up for a drink, turn the channel to see what is selling on QVC and then just in time for the bad news they sit back down or flip the channel back. So the news caters to these individuals of doom and gloom. It has to be earth shattering, horrifc news to break into a regular television show, but if Christ returned and said there would be no more death, war or famine, they would say ah heck, just put it on at the very end of the 11:00pm news cast. That is unless something really bad happens, then dump the Christ bit and put the other on. You definitely said it all up so well.
Oh my friend ,how i agree with you..and even more I here from western critics and journalists that the western media
dont cover all the news really, you only get half the truths..this is not me saying this my friend you can check..
the picture of the stupid world is even more black than you see on TV..I am in the middle ,around me two wars going on
people die every day in hundreds..I see children naked walk the streets crying ,almost starved..
to more areas very hot still waiting for impending explosion into a fully fledged war with more
with more disasters, death and sorrows..what a pity ..how many wars mankind went through
still they never learned their lessons ..its easy to sit and reach a compromise..
with talk and understanding everything may find a resolution, and peace prevail at the end..
I say this and I know I am just dreaming..today is much better than tomorrow, then there will be even more wars to come
more tragedies to see..the war companies could not sell their arms without these wars..their
industry will not flourish with out wars..lots of oil is there too and they see its worth to fight and kill for oil
I ve lots more to say ..its a very tragic and stupid world we live in..
lovely write..
Good on reminding yourself, I'm a bit sick of the media dictating our psychology personally, too. Then again though-I'm also a big pessimist-but that helps me appreciate the chance to see the overshadowed things like these. I love this message, it's something people should be REQUIRED to read, if anything but to remind themselves to see the world in something other than shades of gray.
I am a writer and Artist .. well actually those are the same thing to me..I like to tell stories with art and I like to make pictures with words ..I live a happy life now but have walked through the v.. more..
