Snake oil
I reckon some folks would call me a snake oil salesman and that would be just dandy with me , I ain't much with words and if that is what they call me so be it;
Tho' I ain't never sold no snake oil, least not if you mean oil from a snake.
What I do sale a lot of is faith it may come in the shape of a rattler's tail or the ground up powder of any number of plants and flowers, but I reckon it's all the same, 'course ya, got to have some learnin' 'bout Botanicals that is what my Grandma said the city folk call em.
Granny said there ain't nothin' in medicine that you can't find in nature she said part ways, it's the potion, but most ways it's the Faith.
I got a heap more learnin the most folks do with the Botanicals, I knows which'll heal ya, and I knows which'll kill ya.
Here in these parts folks are poor , they is deep poor, been poor forever will always be poor , mostly make my way , by tradin' but sometimes city folk come on up and pay me for my botanicals.. one city lady.. called it a novelty said she was getting it as a novelty.. I asked her what that word meant she said a fun remembrance, Hell, I reckon if I'd of had a bottle with Snake oil written on it, that there lady'd have been tickled pink.
It don't matter what ya, call it 'cause most part it's faith.
