Stay With Me.

Stay With Me.

A Poem by Kendra

Seems somebody put out my sun.
The stars are now a minefield.
Out comes the moon,
the rays my only shield.

Within these shadows of light I rest.
Once you were my saviour but now it's insane.
With your name on my soul, I did my best.
Bit my lip and held in the pain.

Because these tears are strangers.
Parasites that corrupt the melody of our making.
Now I see they foretold of danger,
because once sold it was up for the taking.

I cannot turn words into symbols.
You make my words weak and feeble.
When your eyes smile and your face lifts,
everything inside of me shifts.

The fire was once raging,
so simple yet confusing.
And now I see that you were always arranging,
something that only you could find amusing.

I am at gunpoint.
Barrel to my head.
Bullet loaded and shoved to the bed.
Lay down flat, and seek redemption when you're dead.

I'll do what I have to.
To make you stay tonight.
