Funeral For A FriendA Poem by KendraSuperficial rip in the dress of the realm of reality and unreal coated in the film of blundering dry words and running mascara dismantle the facade and become deadlier than the Sahara. Our bodies cross legged and pristine. Displaying smirks upon features of kind sadness, but inside we hide the masterminds keen plays of purgatory madness. Preacher opens a wrinkled mouth and speaks necessary initiatives stolen from the great book. To state that she wasn't just a measly streak, and to give justice to the life she took. Family, friends, and acquaintances are rotting inside, as calm as a swarming bee hive. Talking of things that we should, and shouldn't, hide. Pasty skin so unearthly still, contradicting visions that scream she is alive. Like an audience attracted to a show, they gather. Coming in curious flocks and beginners. To stare upon the lost happily ever after, accusing the sins but not the sinners. Fake grass caresses my tarnished shoes. In her dream, I know she didn't want it as false as it seems. It was all there. Obvious clues. No one noticed. No one bothered. To see the growth of the vine was smothered. Her raft consumed by the ravenous sea. Now, we each assume positions in the directory. Note that she wasn't just another infamous girl, but much rather beauty incarnate. With a second glance we would have seen the wounds unfurl. To reveal a rarity in our field of garnet. Maybe one day I will see her again. Pale eyes alight as she dances in starlight. Her hand raised in wait as she holds a steady stance. Her future was then. Our actions tossed acid to something we no longer have the chance to mend. Debts will be payed, right around the bend.
