A Wise Man Once Told Me...

A Wise Man Once Told Me...

A Poem by Angelo412
"

You can do anything you want, but, it all comes with consequences.

"
One day I went to a wise man
I walked to his palace
Knocked on the door
Three times actually

He answered, to my surprise
He said
"Come in" so gently it was almost a whisper

I walked in
The windows had blankets
As curtains
It was dark
Messy
The walls were
A canvas of everybody's work
Name's, pictures, phone numbers, notes, and reminders
You name it, it was on those walls

The man laid down on his mattress that had not frame
Just on the floor
Tons of blankets and tons of pillows
He gestured me to sit and
I did on the floor

He spoke again
'"What brings you to my sacred kingdom"
"I just wanted to see how you did it" I replied
"Did what?"
"Lived happily in this s**t stain"
"What I did, was not care. When you don't care
There's nothing stopping you or your mind."
"Thank you" I said
Then left
