Like a perfect rose, red
Pampered and protected
But for it to reach it's true beauty
You must let it grow and make it's own bed
Take a stand, don't back down
Trying to move forward
Complicated, your look
Makes me feel lower than the ground
Something once beautiful, now gray
Stripped to an ugly stem
Ripped and torn, till the fragile
Rose starts to wilt away
Something small
Nothing you haven't done
I reach out
You let me fall
It's only defenses, filed down, dull
The thorns it was given, taken away
Vulnerable to the world
It's senses and feelings are now null
Not my fault, you weren't there
You strangle me, lock me up
It's something you can't stop
It's something you can't bare
As it's vibrate red petals cringle
Like dead leaves on the ground
Underneath your feet, unnoticed
It slowly loses it's place in the world, single
Don't scorch me, you did wrong
Don't chain me up
For your mistakes
The Glass, empty, the sand, gone
The Rose grows above it, stem tall
Past the ugliness, and now
It's beauty and talent
Flourish, visible, undeniable by all
